It is important to remember on your journey to not be afraid of failure. If you want to reach your goals you’ll almost certainly fail along the way. When that happens take note of what happened and why, then dust yourself off and keep going. Failure is an important tool that can teach us more about how to succeed at something just as much as having success does.
My recent failure is that I put on ten pound while visiting my family for a month while my sister and her kids were visiting from New Zealand. And it is completely my own fault. I haven’t been exercising as much and my diet has been really crappy lately. I used the excuse that I’m “on vacation” when really it was just that I didn’t want to do the extra calorie counting you have to do when you are “on vacation.”
But I’m not going to let this set back get in the way of my success. I am going to use it to fuel my motivation and move closer to my goal. It’s like a wise man (me) once said “Keep failing, eventually that will stop happening and you’ll succeed.”
